The Story Of newlogo.jpg (15892 bytes)

Combine four musicians with differing musical influences and backgrounds and the result can either be an unmitigated disaster or as in this case an outfit where each person complements and enhances the others. Hence a classic rock band has evolved performing a list of songs more varied than may be expected, capturing the essence of each original song but delivering it in their own distinctive style.

Benefiting from over 40 years combined experience The Blast pride themselves on playing classic rock numbers that are well known by the audience but are less likely to be performed by other bands. Of course a few regular standards are included as audience favourites. The philosophy is simple play hard, be professional , give good value for money and above all enjoy …

Dan Dolman : Drums

At the heart of the band playing with maturity and focus belying relative youth, his precise and inspirational drumming underpins the whole blast sound. A combination of natural exuberance and technical prowess combining to produce a fluid rhythm that powers the music to its maximum potential, raising and lowering the intensity of the songs to produce a colourful canvas on which the sounds are created.

Revelling in the gunslinger role lead guitar duties are performed with considerable aplomb, combining diverse playing styles to produce a full and distinctive sound. Unburdened by a traditional guitarist ego, searing screaming lead breaks and gut wrenching power riffs are delivered when necessary but offset against this a more laid back role is assumed when appropriate to the song.

Jamie Williams : Vocals

Possessing a voice that can change from soulful to raucous in an instant, vocal power spearheads the band as they rip through a set. From the haunting melody of Ain’t No Love to the sheer power of Communication Breakdown his voice contains that spine tingling quality that marks a great vocalist. Quiet and unassuming offstage but behind the mike this boy can cut it.

The juggernaut of the band combining with the drums to drive the rythm forward, providing a strong platform for the guitar and vocals. Known for a rather visual aggressive style of playing, excessive cruelty to bass strings and a very strange collection of trousers, he is above all a team player, experienced, dependable and a true rock trooper.
